Scott Allen, WØSJE
Scott Allen, WøSJE has been a ham since 1976 and enjoys many aspects of the hobby, from CW, HF and VHF communications to satellite work and contesting. He also enjoys promoting public interest, education for new hams and emergency communications. Recently he started SOTA, DMR and foxhunting. Now closing in on retirement, Scott is excited to pursue other interests: astronomy, photography, hiking, camping and geology (especially Yellowstone). He currently works at LASP (CU) in aerospace and has worked for 27 years on various deep space missions, focusing on Mars and 10 years in defense. Scott is proud to be a new member of the IPRC and looks forward to helping out with club projects.
Dennis Whalen, K0DWW
Dennis Whalen, K0DWW, is a founding member and former Vice President of the Indian Peak Radio Club (IPRC). Dennis initially used VHF radios while involved with mountain rescue (Sierra Madre Search and Rescue) and later as a volunteer fire fighter (Nederland Fire and later Timberline Fire), where he served as the Medical Officer for several years. Dennis is currently is a retired software developer for IBM, but remains involved in emergency response as part of Boulder County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (BCARES), is a Board member of Boulder County’s Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD), is a member of the Medical Reserve Corp, and currently serves as Chair of the Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance where, among other things, he led in the development of an emergency response plan for human service agencies serving Colorado’s Peak to Peak region. Dennis has had a ham radio license since the 1980s.
